How long should I wait to return her to the group?

I bought I breeding box to separator her from the group. She was on week 5 of holding. Two nights isolated and she spit.

I counted 18 fry :)

She can be returned at any point. I usually place my holding females alone in a 20 high with tons of plastic plants, and as soon as I am sure all fish are released, back she goes!

Bear in mind if she was not eating while holding(some will while holding) she may be too weak to fend for herself if the other fish are aggressive towards her in the main tank. I would give her at least a couple of days to ensure she is active and eating and ready to go in to the main tank. I generally leave the female with her babies for about a week in her own separate tank

I agree, I wait until she has eaten a few times until she goes back into the main tank. She needs some strentgh to get her spot back in the pecking order. Some times I put her in a breeder in the main tank so that she can adapt back to those conditions as well,. It depends on which female it is and the number of times she has released.
