I read somewhere that Yellow Labs can tolerate multiple broods in the same tank. Has anyone had experience with this? One of my females had her first batch of babies about a month ago, and she's already holding again. Her first babies are growing quickly, but they're still under 1" at this point. Do you think it would be safe to put her back in the fry tank with her first babies while she's working on her second brood?

To complicate the issue, there is one Maingano baby in the tank with the Yellow Lab babies. He was the sole survivor from my wily Maingano's first brood (I couldn't catch her to separate her), and he's almost 1" now. Will the Yellow Lab mom eat that Maingano baby after she spits out her fry? She's only about 2", so it's not like there's a huge size difference. The other option would be to put the Maingano baby in with the Maingano mom and her new batch of babies, but I'm not sure she would allow that, and I don't want him to get killed.

Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Thanks, I went ahead and put the mom in with her previous brood since she has only been holding for 2 weeks. I set up another tank over the weekend, so I can move the first brood tonight before she even thinks about spitting out the new ones. :)
