I am almost positive a new yellow.lan we got has ich. We do not have a medicine tank.

Is there a safe product we can purchase to treat the ich on the yellow.lan, but is also safe for all the other fish in the tank?

I will be livid if all my fish die...

crank up the heat to above 87, allot use salt with the temp raise but i never have, just cranking the heat up for 3 weeks does the job.

as a note, ick well get worse before it gets better by using the heat but will not kill the fish, conversely there are ICK meds that can be used. Again i just crank the heat for 3 weeks, speeds yup there life cycle to the point that they burn themselves out.

Heat and salt does work used it many times you will want to add some extra areation the raised temperature does mean less O2 will be able to dissolve into the water.
If your looking for an alternative treatment
I've use ruby reefs kick ich many times it's safe even for scaleless fish. I used it with catfish and clown loaches with no problems.

heat and salt typically work well as do formalin/malachite green products. Though if you are treating with a product it is best not to raise the water temp. The warmer the water the less oxygen it holds and formalin drives oxygen out of water. can be a dangerous combo

You "will" need to treat the entire tank.
As soon as you bring in an ick infected fish, it starts shedding new ick parasites.
And as stated above, it may take weeks to cure.
When the ick spots disappear from the fish it doesn't mean ick is gone, or the ick is dead, it means each spot has hatched into 100 more, new, young ick parasites.
But when they first hatch is when they are vulnerable to salt, or commercial meds

Just had this with a new guy myself. I cranked the temp to 86 and added 1 tbsp of kosher salt per every 5 gallons for 2 and half weeks. Make sure you vaccum the bottom to get any sunken parasites and do water changes every other day while replacing the salt content to the same concentration.

Hasn't come back and the fish were just fine.

I am not a fan of MG for ick, It will dmg your biofilter, stick with the heat and salt. MG and MB are broad spectrum to be used in baths or dips, again crank up th heat, the tank does not need to be treated as you do that when you crank up the heat.
