shes tumbling and shes in a community tank what do i do? and how long does this process take?:nilly:

First off, congrats on the spawn. Now here is the fun part, lol. Their are many different options that are based on what you are set-up for. Here is my recommendation. Let her hold for at least 2 weeks then strip her. Return the mother back to the main tank. The eggs should have become wigglers by then. If there is still an egg sack present then you will need to place them in a tumbler till all but a tiny amount of egg sac is left and then place them in a floating breeder cage. I recommend the breeder cage (plastic ones) because its small enough for the fry not to look to far for crushed flake during their feedings. Once they have gotten used to searching and eating flake for 1 week, place them in at least a 10gal growout and then move them to a bigger tanks as they grow. Sorry for the long read but this is what i do when breeding yellow labs and i have had great success with it so far... Good luck....

Peek inside her mouth at night whilst she's 'asleep' every 5 days to see how the fry are doing. Once they have almostabsorbs thier yolk sacs, just place them in a 10G with a spongefilter, if not 2. They will rpovide food which the fry can snack on.
