YELLOW PARROTS NOT GROWING !!!!!!!

I have a Yellow Parrot from abt 5 months.... i havent noticed any change in its size for this long....

actuallly do these parrots grow in size.....or they have been stopped from growng (some mechanisms)

What are you feeding these guys? I know that some Parrots have issues eating. Do they eat alot or have trouble eating enough food? I have read that Parrots are slow growers but I have been told some grow faster than others. As do many other fish. It deppends on each fish.

It looks good other than the split in its tail....I have three that I have had for awhile. They have all been growing quite rapidly since I got them. I feed them an assortment of frozen bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp, and cichlid pellets (alternate days, not everyday of all). Also, what size tank do you have them in? I see it is in with a larger parrot, is it getting its fair share of the food? There are a lot of factors that can affect thier growth not to mention they are a hybrid.

I agree with the previous post that it also can depend on the individual fish. Some can grow to monstrous size while others just remain average. It is a cute little fish, like the yellow coloring.

my parrot dosent grow too fast ether she as just thickend up.
but i did see a monster parrot at mt LFS was like 10 inches.

It could have been dyed and that stunted its growth.

They don't grow very fast. I have had one for almost a year now and he has gone from about 2 inches to about 5 inches. A lot of factors can effect this like how many fish are in the tank, how often you clean the tank, what you feed and how much you feed.

i had 2 yellow blood parrots they grew half as fast as any of my other cichlids. both died of swim bladder problems though

Im my experience parrots are hainously slow growers unlike their normal counterparts. I have had parrots in a 75 galloon tank for a few years and its a long time to see any growth...

I have three; one about 6" that was at 2" when I first got him, and he grew fairly quick. However, it's been a year and a half since I bought my last two, and they have gone from 2" to only 3". Seems to be taking a fairly long time, as compared to the past BP... Not sure why either.
