What is the average size that a yellow perch reaches in the home aquarium? Assume the fish is under normal aquarium conditions; it isn't being overfed.

The tank is a 55g I've had them a bit over 2 years, they were about 3-4 inches when I got them. I assume the big one will push 12 inches eventually. The interesting thing is the biggest one which is 9" and the smallest which is about 5-6 inches were the same size when I caught them. The middle one which is at about 8" was the bigger of the three when I caught them.

Wow. That's odd. Do they have a pecking order that caused one to get less food do you think? That's a bit odd to me.

It has do with their gender. Males of this species rarely get larger as the females which can easily get up to 12"

No pecking order that I can see, it's who ever gets to the food first gets it. They have never shown any aggresion towards each other.
