Hey guys, I'm probably crazy here but I have a 125 gallon tank with Jaguar Cichlids (parachromis managuense) and after fishing today and catching a bunch of yellow perch I would love to put one in my tank.
Would a yellow perch be ok with 4-6" Jag's?
What about temperature? Would around 80 be ok?

All information you could give would be great thanks!

Chris

im not exactly sure but i think the water need to be colder for native species like that. be aware of diseases also. where did you get your jags? i am still looking for one but i literally cant find one anywere, even online.

I bought them from a local breeder. From what I read online 80 seems to be the max for yellow perch. How long would I have to quarantine it?

You have to quarantine them for a recomended length of 1 month. But I believe 2-3 weeks would be fine. As for the temperature, that is much too warm. 65-70 degrees F seems a good range to keep perch.

80 degrees is a bit high for the temp. To my understanding mid to maybe high 70s at the highest and below and below is preferable.

I think the jags will end up killing them, if the 80* water doesn't get to them first. They might be able to live in 80* for a while, but it will get to them eventually.

I'm not exactly sure if perch would be considered aggressive really. I don't think they'd last long with jags.
