We just dissected yellow perch and shad in environmental science, well be raising they're fry and releasing them later on. Its a dnr program. Shad and eels not yellow perch.

But i guess ive never really seen the true beauty ina yellow perch, does or has anyone tried raising them in aquaria? I really like them, really pretty? Any Pics?

Many people keep them in aquaria...I don't keep any personally though but someone will probably be here shortly who does. They can reach about 12-16" so a large tank is required. They are pretty easy to keep, their care is much like that of cichlids but without the heater.

Just check with the regulations. Some places don't allow wild fish or certain species to be kept. If you find yourself in that position, usually a pet store will carry them seasonally.

Some states such as mine treat yellow perch as a non-game fish. I did however catch mine on hook-n-line. I did keep mine for a year growing it from 4" to 10.5" before giving it to BPS. However it didn't not survive the transition and never made it to their 26,000G tank. I never got any good pics of it with since it hid most of the time I had it.

i thought it kinda looked like a mini peacock bass i liked it, too bad i cant have a tank big enough for em for like another 3 years when i move out.
a 6x2x2 would be plenty big enough for 3 of them and some other natives right?

That is plenty big enough for 3. That would be a nice group. You would be able to put a couple of sunfish with them depending on species.

Lucky, in mine... fish leaving their local water must be killed.
