Since the last time this happend the thread was in the FW ray section, figured this one could be here. Sorry, no Mario Lopez this time. :(

To promote the winter activities at work, we took a yellow ray to a couple of TV studios to do some live morning shows in Miami. (Monday we'll be on NBC for any locals who wanna see.)

This was for Univision, one of the Spanish stations. We also had a hatchling red foot tortoise from our group - hatched at the park.

Transport bin, show tank, back up airpumps, water etc... sitting in the lobby. Nothing like getting up at 3:30AM to start the day only to sit around again. At least I didn't have to be on camera this time.

Cool how big do yellow rays get? Length and disc size would be great. Why was the ray on TV.....nature thing?

What you see it what you get. That is an adult female who has given birth. We do big PR pushes for the major events at the park. When we first got the touch pool up and running I spent a couple days doing nothing but TV stuff. This was to encourage people to come out for our holiday stuff.

Hey thats one fancy aquarium stand you have there! Thats really cool to do that other than the 3:30 am thing but I'm sure you got to go home early right? Is that the Ray that had those pups a while back?

Yeah, same ray. The 'stand' is a prop from set. The tank is a Home Depot special (Buy sheets of glass and a cutting kit, aquarium silicone and wood trim).

It's not on their site yet (that I've seen). If it shows up, I'll post the link.

Gotta thank Sarah (ReefBuff01) for today's work of moving the animal to and from the studio.
