I have a 125 gal tank, right now i am housing a 7'' RTC,a 12" Lima cat,12" Asian upside down cat,and a few smaller Irr.sharks,at 1 time i also had a 14"G.Gourami.The Gourami is gone now,i do a lot of partial water changes(30 %) but after a day or two the water gets tinted again, what could be causing this??My ph is at 7 and every other perimeter is perfect, the tank is not in direct sun light, when i bought the tank it had 2 different light bulbs 1 is normal light while the other 1 is a purpleish hue, could this be causing the cloudy water??Any help or advise is apprteciated!!!:D

If you have a sump, check the Bio-balls for detritus. Rinse out if present. Careful not to kill your bacters.
Do you have real wood in your tank anywhere? This could easily tinge the water. If soit is usually harmless.
Food...overfeeding? Remove any uneaten food as soon as you can.
Peat...? If peat present, this will tinge your water.
Just some thoughts...Peace.

Maybe someone can't make it to the bathroom quickly enough. J/K:grinno:

Actually, do you have any driftwood in the tank and how long has it been in there? If it's fairly new, it will release some tannin which will turn the water yellow. Hope this helps, The Doctor.

No,no driftwood,at 1st i thought it was from overcrowding, but there is plenty of space now,my tank is barebottom and i took 99 per cent of the rocks out(more swimming room for cats)I do alot of water changes, could this cause the cloudiness???

What type of filtration do you use? Also, do you clean the filter every water change? Maybe changing the charcoal will help get the yellow out of the water. The Doctor.

Don't skimp on the carbon. Get the best you can afford. The smaller the granule, the higher the surface area = higher adsorbtion (containment) of impurities.
Stay away from cylindrical, cheap carbon. Waste of money. Waste of space. Stick with a name brand like Fluval etc. Just some thoughts.
