Yepezi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No one really knows for sure. I have never seen an adult yepezi, but In my opinion they are one of the many Motoro variants..

They have only become popular until recently, however I was importing and selling them for $100 with very little interest.. Ban black rays and hystrix, and they are the new 'cool' inexpensive rays..

the yepezi i use to see when i first got into rays were a lot different than what i see labeled as yepezi's now..i think true yepzis come from brazil i remember a site with something on them i'll look for it

Great vid thanks for sharing. I've seen some big ones before. They are very nice. In my opinion nicer that some motoros. Not mine though :D

None the less they are the new in cheap ray to have.

Has anyone ever heard of breeding yepezi
Alex

I was actually thinking of trying to breed yepezi, but Im most likely going to breed histrix.

There has to be someone with a breeding pair of yepezi.

Thanks for the pics Miles. I've also seen these referred to as "sp. peru". Since the true yepezi doesn't really seem to be available I imagine most people who ask about yepezi are in fact talking about this sp. peru.

That being said, has anyone actually kept one of these rays for a reasonable amount of time? Is there a noticeable change in patterning as they age? What was the growth rate like and how big did they ultimately get? Are these really one of the new "small" rays or do they get as big as motoros?
