I have really been debating adding a Salvini to my current display tank and would like to see what you guys would do in my shoes.
current tank setup is:
100"Wx40"Dx20"T
The PH is 7.4 and I stay on top of husbandry and water changes never allowing nitrates to crest 20ppm. The tank is lightly planted (pothos, philodendron brasil and peace lily's) and for as full as it is, the overall temperament is fairly calm.
Stock:
-Cichlids-
1X Albino Tiger Oscar
1X Lutino Tiger Oscar
1X Rotkeil Severum
1X Turquoise Severum
1X Marbled Angel
2X Blue Acara
1X Firemouth
1X Nicaraguan
1X True Parrot (hoplarchus psittacus)
1X Jack Dempsey
1X Texas
5X Red Hump Geos
-Dithers-
5X Spotted Silver Dollars
2X Longfin Blushing Tetras
6X Denison Barbs
2X Buenos Aires Tetra's
2X Rosy minnows (uneaten feeders, going on 3 months now)
-Oddballs-
Senegal Bichir
Black Ghost Knife
-Clean up-
Common Pleco
Flagtail Prochilodus
I do understand that I am approaching JDM stocking levels as is, lol. However I do enjoy a full constantly moving tank, as stated above the fish seem peaceful for the most part (bar the Firemouth flaring up at the Texas every now and then) and I understand that down the road, once a few of them get a bit larger, that I may have to re-home one or two of them. Attitudes change as some cichlids get a little size on them but for the most part, I've been pretty lucky.
So the question is, would you do it?
