LOL 'common saltwater seahorse'?? That's like saying 'common saltwater fish'. There are several species of seahorses, and a good handful of them are readily available to hobbyists. Are you referring to an H. Kuda or H. Reidi perhaps?? Figure out which species you are thinking about keeping, and then let us know. I can fill you in all the information you desire, but first, do a little research into which animal you would like to house. For the record, unless you are intending to keep a dwarf, there is no way a 10hex will be enough for two adults comfortably. They may move slow but they need space, and several species grow 9-12inches or larger. Also, opt for a smoother substrate and not crushed coral as they can often anchor on the floor.

i would have to think he means a kuda horse..

i personally wouldn't try it in less than a 29 or 30 will some good VERY well established LR

yeah, seahorses are very demanding as far as taking care of them., you'll need to feed them at least 3x a day with small amounts of usually live food. there is a scientific paper stating that if they eat too much in one sitting they could actually starve to death, as the food woudln't have time to digest and absorb, as they have a tiny stomach, and short GI tract

I actually have heard that it is better to feed by the half hour in small amounts than to feed three times daily. That is just insane. I would rather go to a public aquarium to admire them then to keep one myself.

have you ever even done any saltwater tanks, done any research at all on how hard it is to keep a sea horese (any kind)

If you can get your hands of a copy of the January 2007 The Tropical Fish Hobbyist they have a really really good artical there and I think the following one as well follows up on care and requirements and things to think about when setting up a seahorse tank. You really really need to do a lot of research before taking these on. Start with the basics of keeping a marine tank then work on what it takes to keep seahorses alive.. I hope that helps
