heh well, today i threw in some cut up krill into my grow out tank were the tiny armatus was hes 2in and well he ate it !! i threw in more and he kept eating it!! awsome!! i think my trick was to put the krill on the filter and the current pushed it fast and the armatus chased it and ate it awsome!. i hope he stays on it. sweet!!!!!!

Congrats.....

You must have read the care guide..... ;) LOL

good to hear. i wish i could get my scomb to take an interest in krill. he is very laid back, hard to get him to chase anything but guppies.

Did you read the care guide about breaking them from live? If that fails try getting another/or a few more. They seem to do much better in groups (in my experience)

I'm glad it was usefull to someone! All my hard work didn't go to waste .... I said if it helped just one person it would be well worth the work. I believe breaking them early and getting them to recognize different food sources is the key to being able to cohab them with other fish.

The only drawback is slower growth rates..... But something I've never figured out is what is the rush to raise an apex predator that grows too big for most tanks?

oh yea man it did not rest assured many people have promoted using your guys's guide. lets hope that works cause i cannot have shanks on my cichla :ROFL:. i have him with cichla young so hopefully they reaconise each others as friends not food :D.

meh i could wait a couple extra months to upgrade :D yup there you go people just want perfection so soon.. and i mean people rush with alot of diffrent fish (ex, cichla, poly's, payaras, etc.. ).. stupid powerfeedin.. but like the saying says.. you cannot rush perfection.. ;)
