At this lfs about 80 miles away i found some really health looking ornates and endlicheri's for $26.99 and $24.99! amazing

those prices aren't too awesome. Since you're in socal, it should be pretty easy to find those two species for like 14-20 bucks at lfs.
yes it depends on there size. I'm guessing they were around 4 inches due to that price. A lot of stores here have prices like that for small specimens.
