So I just can't stay away from fish I guess. I always halfas things and they turn out badly. I have a 29 gallon cycling at the minute to work as a quarentine/grow out as I repair my ancient 55. I need to resilicone the seems.

Anyways, I want a semi-aggressive south american tank. My lfs just got in a some G. Jurapari and I've fallen in love, I have always wanted some geos just never had the extra space. I want the 55 to have a sand substrate, a couple fake plants or potted amazon swords, some small rockwork and that's pretty much it.

I want to incorporate the following fish and hope someone can let me know how many I can have of each.

-G. Jurapari
-Blue Rams
-Cardinal or Rummy nose tetras
-some form of cory

I was thinking maybe

6x geo, 4x ram, 8x tetras, 4x cory?

Stock sounds okay. Just make sure you don't use play sand. It sucks! Use pool filter sand! 10000000 times better! Good luck

Confirmed. Play sand is alright.
Id say you could get more rummynose, theyre not that big. And they all chill together. You might end up with eight if you buy like ten, almost garunteed your going to lose at least one in the acclimation period (about week and a half two weeks)
Emerald sailfin corys are my favorite. They have a lot of character and they add some great color to your tank. They grow to be pretty big eventually. Takes them a while though.

Thanks for the help guys. I haven't decided on the sand yet, but I do know from experience that play sand takes FOREVER to fully rinse through. I'm not sure about the pool filter sand though.

Obviously not because if your saying it takes 1 and a half to 2 weeks, you have no Idea what it means. Acclimation is when you get a new fish and it's still in the bag you put it in the tank to get the water temp from the bag to the same as the tank. I'm pretty sure if you kept a fish in a bag for 2 weeks it would die.
