I hear a lot about NLS and Hakiri on this site as the foods to feed your fish. So far I've never heard anyone speak of Omega. I've been reading the labels and for the price, I'm rather impressed. Does anyone here have opinions on Omega vs the other brands? I would like to hear them.

My opinion on Omega VS NLS... comparing the two, omega has too much fat, too much ash, artificial colors, and the primary protein source isn't as good as the krill in NLS. I will give one thing to omega, they are amazing marketers.
Let's be clear, there's plenty of worse food on the market than omega one. But comparing it to NLS, it falls short.

Whatever people use without incident will be a favorite of theirs. NLS and Hikari tend to be more available in lfs than Omega because many of the middle-men wholesalers stock NLS and Hikari. Many lfs have to order Omega directly, which means a large order to meet a quota.
That being said, if you look at the main ingredients on Omega, you will see they make a quality product. In recent years, many retailers (especially online retailers) have begun making and selling their own food. Don't concern yourself with the label. Be concerned with what's in the container.

If you like omega one then use it. Your the consumer, you make the choice. Will your fish look ugly get skinny and die? Hardly. But prisoners also survive on the food they are given. Would you want to eat it long term? The facts are out there and its up to you to find the best food.If it matters to you enough than read all the threads on this site and makle your call. Should you buy a certain food bc some guy on the net says so? NO! But facts are facts and its there to see.
