Have you tested your water?
No
If I did not test my water...

Do you do water changes?

Recently I posted about permanently removing Bobo from the main tank due to stress caused by my Oscar and parrot. It was done when he suddenly erupted in one fuzzy spot on one side, and what I thought were two scrapes near his eye on the other. It turns out those two areas look like small white tubes sticking out of his flesh. I got suspicious because they were too perfect and rounded to be scrapes. He's battled ich and infection in the past and recovered. It was just never going to work with him in the 225. He is currently in his own tank. The fuzzy spot has vanished, but he has a single small spot on that same side now.

The two spots/growths aren't growing or spreading, just sitting there. Bobo seems pretty unaffected overall. No flashing or clamped fins. Pooped a couple of times but hasn't eaten yet. He didn't move for over a day (stayed in his old cave) but the temps may have been too cool (72). I added salt and a heater and he perked up immediately. I'll take a pic once my phone charges. He has plants to hide behind and under.

First, the water test.

Nitrate 0, Nitrites 0
Ph ~6.5

I checked the PH against my tap water. To my surprise its 6.5. Usually the PH here is around 7.2 to 7.8.

No flashing or clamped fins but Bobo is lethargic. He swims some but mostly sits on the bottom. He did come up to greet me today.

These are the bumps that erupted suddenly 2-3 days ago.

Overnight he developed six individual spots on the other side. I've circled the areas in red. Not sure what to do for Bobo right now, he's in his own tank.

Update.

I've been treating Bobo with a combination of Salt, Medical Grade Vitamin C and probiotics. The individual spots are gone. The odd warts are still there but appear to be less white/shrinking somewhat. If no one has any input I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. He's still not eating but is swimming some and the rest of his body and fins look clear. I added aeration as well. He rearranged his tank the other day. He swam to the top some which is progress.

Sorry to hear! I wouldnt even try and add anything to what u are doing as I'm no expert and would have the same questions myself... sounds like ur getting him better tho! Good luck to u and bobo! Hope he recovers quickly

Looks like lymphocystis. The cold temps and the move and getting bullied probably didn’t help. Just keep doing lots of water changes

His temps are currently at 79/80. I dimmed the lights and he came out to swim. Bobo has shown improvement (details in the More Tank Pics thread). He comes out at times and even went up top.

I did do one dose of sulfaplex this evening because it looked like the two knots were getting kind of hazy looking.

Bobo is still improving. The weird bumps are starting to 'dissolve' it looks like and are less white. He's swimming around some and rearranging his tank. When someone comes near he tucks under his silk vine like a blanket. He'll get his second round of salt, Vit C, and probiotics tomorrow with a water change. Will see if he'll eat something. Will also do another dose of sulfaplex.

He looks good...went all tiger striped when mom checked him out.
