I know there are alot of JD questions floating around, but here's another lol!:D

I am going to be getting a small jack tomorrow, it is around two inches. I am putting it into my 90 gallon that has two severums, two three inch bala sharks and four two and a half inch boesmani rainbows. I'm not too concerned about the current inhabitants, but I have 9 clown loaches that are waiting to go into the tank. They range in size from about one and a half inches up to around three inches. I will keep the smaller guys in my smaller tank until they get a bit bigger, but will the jack go after the larger ones? I haven't really seen clown loaches mentioned as tank mates for jacks.

I also have denisoni barbs that are supposed to go into the big tank. I'm thinking they will be too fast for the jack to catch? They aren't that big right now, ranging from one and a half to two inches, but I can leave them in the small tank until they are bigger too.

Any thoughts?

you really shouldn't have much of a problem. I find that JD's are more of a defensive fish and will usually not start the trouble in the tank.

I've kept Clown Loaches with JDs for years, and have never had a problem. Unless you get a psycho Dempsey, your loaches should be fine. Especially with them being in a good sized school.

Thanks very much! I was a little worried and thinking about changing my mind. The denisoni barbs are the ones I worry about most, as they are not cheap. But I'll just make sure they are bigger before they get transfered, same as the little loaches.

I was thinking about an EBJD, but $45 vs $3 for the regular is a no brainer lol!

Sorry, one more question. What if I got two? One is a little smaller and lighter. They are both around two ish inches. Bad idea? Or is it okay because they are both small?
Here is a pic of the two.

it's too early to sex them, but if they're m and f, you might be in a jam when they breed!

you can sorta tell already... they look more Male than female.. course they can change on u...

two should be fine.. i keep 3 JDs with 2 young clown loc.. and they are doing fine...
