How ever Im not moving them out of the house, or moving the tanks. Ive got two large O's, 16" each. Now the only way Ive know to establish fish in a new tank is floating the bag and adding the water slowly. Basic stuff. How ever these two fish are much to large to put in a bag other than a garbage bag and well I dont want to do that. Whats the best way to move large fish from one tank to the other? And before I get the "go google it newb" hate posts I have an idea of how to do it, but not sure how it will work. The idea is to use a large cooler so the water temp doesnt change and slowly add water from the new tank, then put them in. Let me know how this will work.

Go buy a big enough net to capture them, or get yourself a big mylar fish bag and use it as a net - this is usually the only way to catch large fish that are too big for a green net. Also check out the pond section of your LFS and see if you can get a cheap pond/koi net. Buying things from the pond section is usually cheaper.

Cooler idea is good. To net the fish out Ive always drained the tank then use a large pillow case to scoop them out. I would also use the drip method to acclimate my large fish.

Good Luck
