I had found out a few months ago that i was going to be transferred to the midwest (i live in socal) by my company. it was going to be very good for my career in the long term and would have basically set me and my family up financially for the rest of my life. i was going to be moving out of my house by the end of february and on the road on Thursday the 1st of march.

as a result i had to selloff/give up the majority of my fish stuff. tanks, pumps, filters, fish, etc. it was difficult at times because i was giving up some fish that i had raised from fry to adult size.

then, out of nowhere, my company completely changes the financial arrangement just last week, even though we had come to terms months ago. its a very long story, and i am still employed at the same company, but now there are lawyers involved and i am NOT moving back east.

now i'm stuck with almost no furniture, no washer/dryer and worst of all, 90% of my fish stuff is gone.

my wife, being the consumate optimist, told me to look at from a positive standpoint and see it as a chance to buy new tanks and new fish. sounds good right? well, not for me, i'd rather have all of my old fish and tanks back. luckily a few of the guys i sold stuff to are going to sell some of my fish back to me at the same cost.

its just weird how you can completely change your life and go 100% in a different direction, only to have to throw on the brakes and go back to business as usual.

/end rant/

Sorry to hear, but that is life. Your wife has a good perspective on life I would listen to it. I know that is hard to hear and I totally understand where you are coming from but essentially what can you do? Just try to rebuild.

I wish you all the best and I am truly sorry for the position your company put you in.

I was planning a move to cali last year, had just started keeping fish again so luckily didnt have too much setup.I gave away or threw out piles of old tanks and equiptment in anticipation of the move then it didnt happen.Im so glad I procrastinated giving my fish away. And lol yea I used the excuse to get all new tanks all of which are bigger than the ones I got rid of

well that is awful. Atleast you didn't move with all your stuff and then move you and all your stuff back. i did that but i managed to bring my fish and tanks back and forth with me. Not very fun. Sorry to hear you got screwed out of the deal you had.

damn that sucks
