yo camshaft! heres my bug

damn you cam, now the wife is mad at me because i just cant give up the bug and have yet another project im going to start.

the car is all original to my knowledge, no repaints here. outside looks like hell, inside and under hood look like new more or less. engine is gone though.
tell me if you can id the part in the last pic.

LoL, nice. It's in really good shape for a 66 (especially the trunk). At first glance, I thought the last pick was the bazooka/air conditioner. What is it?
I zoomed in and read all the writing, but it's in German..

to my knowledge it is a gasoline heater. i think i got this off a friend, cant remember if it came with the car or not when i got it.

Wow...

Makes sense though, I guess. It gets cold over there. It's the opposite for me. I live in
Florida, hot and wet. I'm about to install an oil cooler for the car. It gets so damn hot down here.

think im goona sell the heater, sounde too dangerous for me.

never had one in my other bugs, so why now esp. when its a toy. i remember rolling to school with a towel in one hand to wipe the frost off the windshield every couple minutes in the winter.
