Your friends are leaving town and they call to ask if you can watch their sick fish while their away...
A friend of mine recently had a fungus problem in his outdoor pond. Once discovered he had already lost 4 of his original 8 comet goldfish that averaged 6" a piece. I had stopped by and offered up my experience as a learning fish keeper. I said to put them in a QT tank and get the meds rolling! Sent his wife to the store to get some antifungal and some chlorine remover, and said to them to keep the water CLEAN!
3 days later I got a call...He asked if I could care for the 3 that were left and keep up the hospitalization...My response was-You got any plastic totes!
2 50% water changes made in a day and a half and the biggest fish that is the worst off is now showing signs of recovery! They still have a very thick 'coat' of white fur instead of the normal slime coat, but things are looking promising.(I'll post pics when I can)
