I have two angel fish that are approximately an 1.5" tall. I bought the black one one day then a white one that was housed with it the next day because I felt that my first one would appreciate the company.

They swim around together in their 55g but a couple times a day the white one will turn aggressive and chase the black one around. I've been debating for a few days to just take the white one back or let them get over it.

Should I just take the white one back, I really don't have any attachment to it but I don't want the black one to suddenly feel lonely and die. I also don't want the aggression to increase as everyone else in the tank gets along peacefully.

Advice? Experience sharing?

IME Angelfish are best kept in groups of 5 or more. Angelfish are social cichlids and do best in groups. I would go buy 3 more 5 will be fine in a 55 species tank and the agression will be spread out.

Ehh. Then I better just return both of them. I was growing them out to be put into my lady's angel tank but she doesn't really like this species of angel anyway.

+1

Only thing I dislike about Angels is when you keep groups they will pair off and potentially kill the non-paired Angels. Singular Angels tend to be more aggressive but every Angel is different. Sometimes you get lucky and get docile or you have my luck and get extremely psycho ones..
