Hello everyone,

What is the effect of a black background tank on a young BBXB? Will this tank prevent a young BBXB from crossing?

Thank you!

black background would probably make your aro's coloration darker and stand out more and about the crossing i heard it will take longer to cross then when you keep it in white tank, ask Koji for more info :D

yeah how would the backgroud do that?
anyways
be sure to post pics!!!

hard to come by NEW pics of bbxb's in the US haha

I think the black background would bring out a darker colored gold while a white background will bring out a lot of shine (eg. very bright colors). When i bought my RTG at the LFS he was in a light blue tank. My RTG was very bright colored when i bought him. Once i placed him into my black backgrounded tank his gold colors eventually Darkened up and the gold frames stood out more compared to the base colors.

But with a BBXB I hear you should let him grow out in a white tank while its young to enhance brightness and then move to darker tank to get the dark gold color as well... Thats what I've read here before on a thread I rememeber.

But yes... Koji would know whats best.
