Young fahaka diet

I have a 5" fahaka. He eats good frozen bloodworms in the morning, frozen krill in the pm. Ive tried ramshorm snails but he never chewz the shell, just pulls the meat out. I throw the occasional platy in. Im having trouble finding crawfish and shelly critters small enough. Will his current diet be enough to keep the teeth trimmed?
