young istlanum pair

short video of my young istlanums male approx 4" female a bit smaller ,looks like they are about to spawn.
there is a texas cichlid and a few small salvini in the tank as well as a 6" male bristlenose which i think i'm going to have to remove ,the istlanums are starting to get very aggressive

Amazing how these two appeared to like eachother once they settled away from my rearing tank... pleased you've got this pair... Hopefully between us we'll populate the UK aquarium industry with young Istlanums

pckts, unfortunately i'm in the uk so can't help you with locating you a female, they are fairly rare over here as well.

cyberman, they are doing well now got off to a bit of a rocky start as they refused to eat my NLS pellets the female wasn't to bad but the male was very stubborn took me about 10 days to get him to eat and he also seems to develop some kind of mouth infection which has totally cleared up now, so all is good now.

anyway got in from work this evening to find they have spawned already ,sorry it's not the best pic as the pot was at an angle but you should be able to see the eggs on the outside of the pot

WELL DONE MATE!!!! Dougue told me that you have a knack of spawning anything you get. I need to seperate mine now from the Festae and the aggressive Firemouth, they are sharing with at the moment, then they should spawn aswell... fingers crossed. Istlanum are tough fish so I'm not surprised your male fought of any infection pretty well.
