i thought midas or red devil juveniles (not sure what i got) were supposed to lose the black colouration as they grew.
these pics are taken a week apart and one of mine has gone from having a few black marks to almost covered in a deep velet black, very cool looking but not what i was expecting at all.
my tank is nice and clean and all the other fish are doing just fine.
this fish looks lively and eats like a pig so im sure its healthy, just wondering what your thoughts were ??

yea im hoping it does keep it, looks awsome.
im feeding them hickari cichlid gold & excel. frozen brine shrimp, blood worm & discus food (contains beef heart). peas & prawns.

Would be awesome, but it will fade allmost entirely. Yellow or orange in the future.

Your fish is fading. Its jst developing a deeper rich color, it can happen for some time.
