Young sajicas

Any one have any pics of sajica fry up to maybe 1.5in. A lfs near me has a bunch in at a great price but I am unsure of if they are pure. And of course I didn’t get a picture while I was there.

It looks very similar the ones I saw, those don’t have a bar yet. Did the bar develop from spots or was it always there?

It’s there. You can’t always see it according to the mood / lighting etc. but even in fish 1” for sure even by 3/4” it’s there. The second picture it’s faint. When they buck up and flair at each other it’s prominent. They should look like blue eyes convict fry with a very very prominent stripe from dorsal to vent at least- and when they are posturing or feeding etc you’ll see the T

Yea these have normal convict spots. Everything else looks right on them from color to eyes. But they are missing the prominent bar which has made me suspect they aren’t true sajicas

I’ll go try to get a couple better pictures for you it just takes some patience

It looks almost identical minus the prominent bar. I’m very undecided on getting these. Some have yellow throats and fins already just the bar isn’t there.

Different collection point can explain that. If you don’t feel good about it though don’t bother with them. Wait for some with some provenance. My breeders came from TUIC. Kevin doesn’t list a collection point for Sajica now, just captive bred. I’m always looking for fish with provenance.
