10 days later, their 3rd attempt! Last time daddy ate eggs as she laid them.
This week they did a lot of lengthy lip-locking in days prior to spawn. hadn't done that before.
Last night while preparing for water change, I saw a bunch of eggs and both parents protecting.
The female even flared/chased me away from peeking at their corner.

I debated the water change disturbing their progress. but went ahead, carefully. Pleasant surprise, the F stayed on duty throughout. The M eventually returned to her, altho hovering with the other fish during change.
I left the moon lights on all night, bcuz 1st spawn was eaten after "lights out".

The male was hanging out with tank mates this morning, but went back to duty with the regular lights.
Typical male? LOL.
At least he is improving and hasn't eaten them yet. Female is the leader and Boss.
They're still attending so far.
I wonder how far they'll proceed this time?
:-)
