As for me im limited to a 125 gallon or smaller.
Perhaps something like this:

125 gallon RBP with good equipment and backup equipment.
2x heaters one as backup

2x fx6 one as backup
Zeolite in filter bags, ammonia reducing sponge media, nitrate reducing sponge media.
backup media

4x wave makers
Large air pump
10x nano air stones

Duckweed layer on top
Jungle val layer on bottom
1 inch black gravel
A good quality siphon

Some of my epoxied wood as decor.
A bunch of nice black slate rocks.

Ample lighting
Nutrients for the plants

I'm not into dream tanks, but only want to provide adequate housing for my fish. I found this pic on the long ago defunct Tenecor gallery. I love everything about this fish room. It is my inspiration fish room.

Oscar Wilde wrote, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness." While my tank is less than half the size of the 4000 gallon tank pictured at 1800 gallons, I tried to duplicate what I liked in the picture for my fish viewing/music room/library. I have no desire or need to go any bigger.

Somewhere around a 4X10 or 5X12 to provide a proper home for Casper.

For me, realistically, it'd be a 10x3x3 with a 6x2x2 sump.

Id have 2 islands of large bogwood with some smaller rock work with a natural sandy substrate with large open spaces for swimming / bottom dwellers.
Id have a large k1 moving bed compartment in the sump with plenty of jap mat, oversized UVS and all Ecotech Vectra, Vortech, Versa and Battery Backup systems.

Stocking wise would be all South Americans for me, including my Oscars, Rotkeil Sevs and Geophagus, but id also add a True Parrot Cichlid, Black Diamond and a Pearl Stingray (My grails).

One powerball.
