Your Favorite Sump Pump 800 gph Plus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My Quietone 4000 is extremely quiet, flows well from my sump to my tank (about 5'). I actually need to redo my overflow because of the deal I got on this pump. Originally, it was going to be a much smaller pump on my tank and my overflow was designed for a much smaller pump.

quietone would be my choice. fairly cheap and uses low wattage

I'm happy with my quiet one pumps.

I have a Q1 9000... it's definitely not quiet though. When that pump gets shut off, and it's only the FX5 running, it seems spookily quiet in my tank room by comparison.

I, too, had lots of problems with the Q1 9000. I had it (them) waranteed 4 or 5 times, I lost count. Every time, the pump was noisy, so I sent it back. After a bunch of times, I finally got the guy to admit that they were having lots of problems with the 9000's (all noisy). He upgraded me to the 14000, and it is almost silent. The only problem is that now it flows too much for my overflows, so I had to make a loop from the output of the pump back into the sump to relive some pressure. If I were you, I would call pentair and make a stink because it is a known problem.

for smaller tanks i find rio's very nice. cheap and work well, and they have a pump the rio hyperflow 20HF that is rated at 870gph @ 6' head, and up to the 32HF that is rated at 1300 @ 6'

I love the quiet one pumps also. but my second favorite would have to be mag drive pumps. They last forever!
