It was a around a year ago a little more I took the 10gal down from the attic after I got my bettas I wanted fish fish. So I set it up and then I wanted more so I got another 10gal. Then I wanted bigger so I got a 15gal hex from my moms friend who was moving buwhahaha I <3 that lady. Then I got a 30gal to ease my African temptations. After that my bf then and took off he got 10gallons, 2 20gallons, a 30gallon and 125gallon and I throw my big fish in his tanks =) wheee

oh and we had a 55gallon but the oscar shattered the glass from slamming into it to hard.... that was intresting...

I was nine and lived on a farm and the cattle reservoirs had gold fish in. i started selling the goldfish to a lfs and then started moving similar looking ones into the same resorvoirs and then at about ten, i got a 5 litre hex tank. no air pump, just little bit of sand and some oxygen weed. then got a 10gal, moved onto a 75gal by 13, added a 45gal by 14, and so have moved on to a 268gal, 90gal,75gal,55gal, 3x30gal, 40gal, 2x20gal, 2x10gal.

my first tank was a 20 gal, don't remember how old I was, but less than 10 years. I had an oscar, named Oscar, a pleco, named Wiggles, and I caught a catfish out of a ditch, named Catfish, or "fish" for short, and had them all for a few years. The catfish I belive was a bullhead. I remember having to scoop them all up into a bucket, drain the tank, take it outside, hose and scrub it, carry it back in, fill it, and dump the fish in.

how those fish survived as long as they did- no idea! when they finally croaked, The catfish was a foot long, the pleco about 8 inches, and the oscar a good 8-10 inches. We had funerals for all of them.

7th Grade, Science project on goldfish growth rates. Had them for 4 yrs, put them in a pond. Then moved up to real fish. Now I have an Oscar, and breed Convicts. 2x10g 1x20g 2x30g 1x55g.

my mother had a goldfish tank when i was a kid and it definitely wasnt for us kids to touch. lol. we were allowed to watch and thats it!!! the first tank i had bought myself was a 55 gallon. i was at the store with the g/f looking to pick up a 30 gal kit and i hear, "baby look at this, its bigger and only another $30" SOLD LOL. since then i have that 55, a 40 breeder, 30, 20, and 2 10s.

My parents kept a 10 gallon for as long as I remember with mostly fancy goldfish. What got me into fish was a betta, tiny betta bowl, and a 4 chamber betta container you can suction cup to a tank, all this my grandma gave me when I was 7.

I guess my first "tank" (if that's what you want to call it) was a gallon jug with feeder guppys in it. I found their behavior so interesting that I fell in love with non-shark fish (I have always loved sharks, all my life) and went to college to study fish. My gf gave me a betta vase my first symester and I had him for almost two years before he died of dropsy. Shortly before he died I was given a 20g with a trio of convicts and a pleco....now that was interesting!!!! I decided I wanted to keep fish and now I have a 75g, 55g, 29g, 29g, 20gH, 20gL, 10g, 5g and a 40g but there is a turtle in it....not fish.
