I see alot of enthusiasm for the hobby due to the number of threads being generated. On the opposite side of the coin, I also see an increase in duplicated questions. Some occurring directly beneath a similar thread, with a good answer, within the same forum. There are also alot of ...how should I phrase it...hmmm...BS threads that reveal the poster to be exceedingly bored. Here's an idea that will make things more productive to your participation in MFK and will add to your enjoyment/advancement within this hobby:
Perform a keyword search for all of the fish that you currently have and are intent on obtaining in the near future. The chances are good that you'll find a ton of info already exists that will help you in your care of a particular species. That info will also help you in formulating a concise question about an aspect of that species not already covered.
Thinking of building an aquarium, indoor pond, filter, refugium, etc? A keyword search using terms like 'plywood', 'fiberglass', 'liner', 'pond', 'wet dry', etc. will yield a library choking with information.
Just remember a fish you forgot about for a long time? Saw something new in the ole lfs? Got excited by something you saw on the Discovery Channel? Well, that keyword search works for those, too.
See what info is already on this site so you can form a more intelligent question or argument for that particular subject or species. The more informed the members of MFK are, the greater the overall contribution to this hobby that we enjoy.
