In your opinion would these fish and ray make good tank mates? Some guys on here say yes some say no.They will be in my indoor pond 700 something gallons. It will be bare bottom.
Will the ray sting the cats?
Will the cats nip at the disk?
will there be a happy medium on ph levels?
Will there be competitions for food?OR............
Will it be a trial and error deal.I don't want to lose my rays or cats so that is why I am asking your opinion before i jump into this thing.Thanks.............

You have recieved different answers because there isn't a straight answer to the question... For the most part if the Rays are a decent size then there shouldn't be an issue but a small ray with a large cat sounds alot like tacos for lunch... I don't think I've come across any "My ray Stung my catfish" Threads and beleive that most rays would never use their stinger for any other reason than defense.

You also need to keep in mind the different growth rates that these species have and take that into account for the future.

Thanks for the reply and the info.Let me narrow this down a little bit .The rtc i have is 5" and the 2 rays i have are amale and female motoro varient and a tea cup(possibly retic) both have about 5" disk and the tsn is about 3" to 4" about.I have ordered 2 rtcxtsn and don't know the sizes yet.

Chances are pretty good that you will lose some of those rays since the RTC will be between 18" and 24" within the year and the Rays can't keep up with growth rates... i would be looking at starting out with a good 18" ray with a 6-8" RTC but thats just my opinion

The cats will outgrow your rays very quickly especially the rectic......

I mixed a 22" Perruno with a 20" Motoro without any problems really...... Although i found that the ray bit the cat once......

Big cats like RTC dont mix very well with rays at all really other than say the large species say castexi or otorongo....

Also getting food down to the rays would be a nightmare!
