I have a 29 gallon , filtration consists of two 20 gallon 40 whisper powerfiters, one rotating power head and a Aquarium systems skimmer (up to 100 gal) I have been thinking about changing it all to a sump. I am forever cleaning the filters because they dont have as strong of flow as when they are clean. and i really need current on the top of the water because i have a film that i have been trying to get rid of what does anyone suggest. which is better i have ten gallon that i could use or is there a cheap yet well filtering sump that i can buy??

The film on top of you water is disolved organics. They can be removed by using a surface skimmer attachment for one of your HOBs. But if you are going to setup a sump then you will be using an overflow box which will do the same thing. You might think about upgrading your protein skimmer. Do you have liverock in your system? a ten gallon would be fine but bigger is always better. tell us more about your system. What do you keep? What do you plan on keeping? Things like that.
