The English premier league kicked off last night. The opening match was my team Manchester United v Fulham. Utd narrowly won 1-0, which I was delighted about.

I've supported Man Utd since 1976, mainly just as an armchair fan, though I've seen them live on many occasions too when I've been fortunate enough to get tickets. We've had some miserable times over the years, as well as some brilliant times, especially under the 25 year tenure of Sir Alex Ferguson.

He retired in 2012 and things went downhill from there. Several managers have been and gone since he left and we are currently rebuilding with our latest manager, Eric ten Haag, and hopefully the current owners and management team can lead us to greatness once again.

What's your team, the team you've stood by through thick and thin, whether it's football, baseball, basketball, cricket, whatever?

Liverpool! And we kick off in about an hour or so.

“You’ll never walk, a-a-lonnnneeee”

😎

I always thought you were a decent guy as well! Considering you support our bitter and long running rivals, the Scousers, I may have to re-evaluate my initial thoughts on you, lol.

It's going to be interesting to see how you get on now that Klopp's gone.

ARSENAL.
I am willing to die for it!

North Melbourne Kangaroos in AFL

I have supported them since I arrived in Australia as a 7 year old. The best team of the 90s but they have been an absolute mess the last 6 years. A long rebuild phase that hasn’t gone to plan and lots of bad luck with recruitment and bad luck in general.

The Aussie footy season will be over in a few weeks so as we always hope “things should improve next year”

Lol, once upon a time the rivalry was quite something between us. Nowadays, because Leeds have been in the doldrums for so long, I don't think the rivalry goes as deep anymore. Maybe from a Leeds fans perspective the hatred is still fresh, but not so much from the Utd end.

I have mates who are Leeds fans, I've actually been Elland Road a few times over the years. I'll even go as far to say that Leeds were a sort of second team for me, lol.

BTW arsenal is above all of your teams 😎😎

Yes they are, but unfortunately for Arsenal, although they are very good at the moment, and have been for a few years now, they continue to not quite be good enough to win anything of real merit!

You don't really have any bragging rights where Arsenal are concerned, until they eclipse Man City, which ain't happening!

My team is the 49ers (American Football). The only problem is that recently it seems that every year the 49ers look great, maybe the best team in the league even. And then the Kansas City Chiefs beat them at the end in the Superbowl. I promise myself I'm giving up on the sport since it's not worth it investing myself like that, only to feel the pull again when the next season approaches... I guess there's worse things to be addicted to.
