I have a 90g that I am ready to stock. Wanna go with Geo's. Local dealer has some Tapajos, Steindachneri's, and Balzani's. Also has some Satanoperca jurupari's. What do you guys suggest or prefer? Do they have different personalities?

I'd go with
3 orange head tapajos,
2 juruparis
2 red humps
3 heckelli

I've never tried Satanoperca because I've read they can be a bit on the sensitive side when it comes to water parameters. I cannot comment on steinys because I've never kept them.

Orange heads (Tapajos) are a medium growing Geo with a fairly mild temperament and great color. You could do a small group in that tank with some tetras or other small fish as dithers. It takes them a while to color up but it's worth it. They are gorgeous as adults. Balzani are actually a Gymnogeophagus and will probably do best with a cool down period in the winter. I eventually unplugged the heater on my tank and they did great. They can grow to be pretty large and bulky, so you may not be able to keep as many in a 90 as the Tapajos.

Good to know, kinda narrows down my search. Is there a differnece between tapajos and red humps?

I have a group of 6 Tapajos. Even though they are only 1"-1.5" their personality is awesome. I can't wait until they get bigger.

I have tapojas, streindachneri, leucasticta, braziliensis, heckalii and abalios. I had to separate some into different tanks because of varying aggression level. I would steer clear of the red humps ( streindachneri) and the braziliensis. I have my green horse face leucasticta and tapojas in their own tank and they get on fine but you will need a group of a least 6 each. Awesome fish all, love the eartheaters.

For a 90 I would suggest Geo. RH Tapajos. Very mellow for the most part, great color and not too big. 5 or 6 max. no more then that in a four foot tank IMO.
