Ok, I'm not a fan of the rockscape. I'd probably buy a box of dead rock and scape it with that.

The equipment is only good for fish and if you're still in the cycling phase, I wouldn't turn on the lights as much to keep the algae from growing.

I have a 29G reef and from teh looks of the picture, I thought it was bigger until I re-read it.

If you do plan on going to corals, you need to get rid of the power filters and the crushed coral will be a problem later on. I used crushed coral since I like coarsed substrated but eventually removed it.

Ty Im planning on adding live rock and sand. I just wanted to get some experience before getting into deep.

No protein skimmer? I'm not very educated in sw tanks, but I thought you usuallly used some sort of mechanical to remove particulates (ac110 would do good for this), and a protein skimmer (you could get a HOB one for simplicity, or do a sump) for getting rid of DOC's and oils. Then add live rock to do your bio filtering.

Thought I'd give a update on what used to be my 29 gal fowlr tank. Here's the upgrade to a 55.
Now has sump, 4x65 t-5's, aquaC remore, and 200# LR,
