4' max, but in captivity 3' or less. The marbeled African is the big one at around 6'6". Until they hit around 8-10", they grow pretty fast, around 3 inches a month. I feed mine frozen mysis, frozen bloodworms, chopped market prawns and chopped nightcrawlers... I have three, one around 12", and the other two around 8".

I had one for 3 days and then it died...

****ing *******!!

You're living my dream!

When I went there last weekend and Li met us, He's like..

"Ehh..They're pretty ***."

Those words exactly.
I'm all like...

"SHUT UP CHUNG LI!!"

And he's like..

"You're the C*CK HUNTER..."

Then I cried.

The LF looks very nice though. :hearts:
You're lucky you got the ones from the bigger batch, mine was WAY smaller.

cheer up, i am sure you will get one soon in the future. :)

will the south american one keep the colors it has curently wich is a blueish blackish base color with brightly colored yellow spots on its body? Or will these fade away into a ugly brown color. Also my african is it the marbled african. Out of all the info i have found on the african one it look like a marbled instead of the other african one.

i want one :hearts:

They just lose their spotting as they grow, when they hit about a foot. IMO, though, they look A LOT better when they're older and are a pure charcoal black color. Some of them turn sort of a tan color though, and those are pretty ugly, LOL... but I think if it's black as a juvie it's black as an adult, and the tan-ish ones are sort of green when small.

we have at least 5 of them at my job currently, ranging from 3-6". Cool fish, but looks pretty ugly once it gets bigger. :p
They've never benn accused of being pretty, but the def. are an awesome conversation piece. Watch your fingers!
