I got a aire Blue (male) 3 weeks ago. Just wondering: can I add another male? or will the 2 fight?

I want more than 1 but dont have the tank space for a pack of them.

I'm worried if I get another male, one may kill the other...

If I get a female, he does not like, will he attack her??

Tank is 5 x 2 x x 110G. But its mainly a datnoid tank.

Leave it that way, no more males. 4-5 females on the other hand, would be a better choice.

However, in the long run, the tank is a little small for a frontosa colony.

..you won't be able to sex the babies.. it is along time until they mature and have aggression issues... zaire fronts do alot better in groups... you can always worry about too many males later..it takes years until maturity...and you will need a larger tank... sell off males when they mature for a good price..fronts get along just fine in groups... many years later they start the nipping...

i always wondered how they did with just males. i always thought that they would be ok as long as a female wasnt introduced. seeing i thought about adding them with my dats seeing fronts are the only africans i like and i had one at the time. not considering it anymore but what you are doing is what i wanted to do seeing i dont want any breeding.

they take so long to grow that males and females will not become an issue until they are mature... any group of any sex is fine while they are growing up.. usually it takes a couple of years for them to start getting aggressive..otherwise they are peaceful... i think i have more males ... maybe all males... haha... after 2 years they have just started to become nippy with each other.. so there maybe one female in there.. darn if i can tell.. only way to tell is to vent them..

frontosa are fully mature after 4 to 5 years thats when they start to breed anyways!
