has anybody heard of these fish.Im thinking about ording one from jeff rapps and putting one by itself in a 40 gallon.they look just like a midas but they are all black.
They grow to about 11"...and won't survive in a forty gallon tank. It is the only amphilophus species in Lake Nicaragua that heads for open waters rather than the rocky bottom when threatened. They need room to thrive.
I have 2 of them. Amphilophus zaliosus cichlid or arrow cichlid. I orederd them from jeff also they are cool fish. they are only about 3 inches and i have a male and a female. They have lotts of personality so far but a 40 is way to small. I am keeping them in a 60 right not until my 100 gallon or 120 is cleared out
