Just got about a 3" very thin zebra knife. I dropped it in my planted tank with a baby festae and a school of panda cory along with some young plecos.

Any tips for favor food as these are much less common than the clown or ghost, I'm curious if they differ much.

Thanks

Somewhat uncommon I think. I have him in planted cube now, with panda corys and a crenicichla compressiceps and little snowball pleco. the 1" dwarf pike is very passive. some people say they are aggressive, and possibly @ full grown it might be more, but it has no threat in the tank and the dense wood and plants helps[h=1]

Zebra knifefish Gymnotus pedanopterus, not super rare but not an easy find either. Closey related to "banded" knifefish and as commonly mislabeld as so. There isn't a whole lot of info on these guys so best of luck to you.

I never saw much aggression with mine, but it would go after smaller Tetras when given the chance. Otherwise at 5-6", he wasn't too much of a threat. I think I worried more about him getting picked on by something else in the tank more than I worried about him going after something.
Usually a smaller species of Knife though, don't think I've seen any past 8-10", and they go nuts for blood worms. Otherwise flake and pellets work, after awhile they seem to go after just about anything that seems like food.
Definitely a good pick, usually the "Zebra Knife" is just a Carapo Knife that has been mislabeled, and that is a big difference compared to this little guy. Carapo are much more aggressive, and get much larger.
