Hi..the last day or 2 i caught a few of my fish flicking/rubbing off the coral sand in my tank..so i bought Protozin which i have a question about.

it says on the bottle..to remove carbon and zeolite,ad that you can leave filters runing..
I have a Tetratec EX600...and im just wondering..i remove the bag of carbon..yes. but do i leave the biological filter foam(black foam) in while treating the tank? and also do i have zeolite in tis filter!?

this is my first time treating a tank for disease.. all advice would be much appreciated.

exactly how do i treat the tank? if someone has experience with this treatment and they can give me a step by step guide that would be great!

Just take out the carbon bag. Leave the rest in and running, carbon takes the protozin out the water. Put the carbon in again after you are done treating and sure the fish are well.

Why did you choose protozin? Can you see white spot? If not then this may not be the cause of the flashing and using medication when you don't need to is an un-needed risk. Flasking can be caused by a few things, which can be treated with different meds.

I have used protozin a few times for white spot and it works really well (even with loaches at double dose)
The instructions are on the bottle and if it is white spot then you should consider raising the tank temp to about 29c. This speeds up the life cycle of the protozoan nasties, this helps as you can only kill them at one stage when they are free floating in the water.
Continue the treatment even if you don't see the spots as they could still be in the water/gravel

well, ive been treating the tank for 3 days now...i didnt raise the temp though...its around the 24-26 mark over the course o f the day...unfortunately i still have a fish scratching there was 4 at one stage..hence the treatment...so im not sure where i stand y'know...there was no visable signs of white spot prior to treatment..i just assumed it was the problem.

if not white spot..what could the problem be? should i buy salts and higher the temp after the protozin treatment..
