Zig zag eel escape!

So a couple of hours ago I just finished a water change and everything was fine. Then I came upstairs to go to bed to find that I couldn't see the eel (although it is normally hiding in its plastic tube) but then out the corner of my eye I see this eel looking back at me from outside of the tank!!! I seriously got the fright of my life lol. So immediately I shouted to my dad that the eel has escaped and then I heard a thud - and the eel had fell down the back of my desk. But even after a 40cm jump it was fine! So after it went nuts cause it didn't want to go into the net and after it spiked my dad a bit we finally got it back into the tank.

Lol, moral of the story is: make sure your eel can't climb onto the filter and right out the tank!

Damn!! Well saved though mate, glad you were there to catch him. Makes you wonder what goes through their mind when they leave water, they must be hopeful they will find some more before they 'reverse drown'.

How big is the eel?

Yeah, me too - it was definitely a close one! And Yeah, I thought that too. He probably just wanted an adventure lol.

And he is about 20cm just now.
