Zonatus spawning

Been in 5 days I think the biggest is female but not 100% sure

Awesome! Can we get a full tank shot? I have a pretty big tank, never had fish spawn in it. I saw another post where a guy said the tank was too "open". Needed to have LOTS of cover and decor for fish to spawn.

My tank is kinda bare, so I'm wondering if that's my problem. If your tank is, too--then I don't think that's it.

I have 4 Zonatus in my tank now, about 4-5 inches, 2 of which are noticeable bigger and more...high bodied...than the other 2. So, I think I have MIGHT have males and females. 2 have more blue than the other 2. 2 have faint vertical black bars, while 2 do not.

My tank is not overly decorated, I did add a shoal of 10 red eye tetra which seemed to help. They have eggs now

You tank looks nice and quiet. Very peaceful. Mine's not like that.

I don't think it was the Tetra's. I think you just lucked into some horny fish. Maybe it's because your tank's real calm.......

Yea I think I got lucky, there's only three zonts in there the pair have one end of the tank the other has the other side and yea at the min very calm,

Have you had other fish spawn before?

Yea before I got these I had a pair of barred midas before them a pair of jags before them a pair of Lyonsi all were breeding pairs.
What are you feeding yours
