Zonatus tail healing question

Hello do you guys think this guys tail will heal with clean water or is it too damged? It is between the rays but if pretty far down. Thanks

Looks like it should heal up fine. It's not into the actual flesh so that's good. Do you know what caused it?

Ya, shipping can be rough on fish, but it looks like it'll heal just fine.

It'll heal. I've seen it happen.

If that heals I would be shocked. It will likely always have that notch. It's missing rays.

Ok thanks guy! One more question. How long will i have to wait until I know for sure? He is a part of a breeding pair so it wouldnt be the end of the world if it doesnt heal.

I am optimistic that it would heal..... good quality water and optimal feeding should do the trick.... take a pic post 7 days....you should see a gradual improvement. .... if not thenough it is a trophy for ever

If it does heal, it will take a while. I don't have pics of the damage like you have, but some that have been in the healing process.
My t. Pasiones tail was torn the same way and here is it a pic of mid healing. He is 100% healed now. But he may have healed quickly because he is a juvi. An adult would heal much slower.
