So anyone fish these things? Zoom, the big soft bait company, make these airplane/crawfish/creature looking baits called brush hawgs and they come in 4 sizes; super hawgs, brush hawgs, baby hawgs, and tiny hawgs. I bought some june bug brush hawgs, which are 6", from bass pro after talking with a sales associate who claimed to fish bass tourneys and swore by these things and this color. Now I live in Nebraska where the water is usually pretty dirty and greenish. So this purple color and darker colors are kind of needed one would think to even show up in the water. I have caught just a few bass off of these fished texas style with a 1/4 or 1/2 oz. bullet weight this summer but I wanted to check to see who else may use these and what kind of luck you have had. If you havn't seen these check em out. They are funky! But have a ton of action with this twin tail. Let me know yalls thoughts.

I have a problem fishing slow but I will tell u I see and here about them alot. Alot of bass fishermen live by them but give a wire bait ALL DAY and with the right water depth I'll catch way more fish just maybe not as big.

i've tried the hawgs, caught a couple smallies on one 2 weeks ago at Salmon river reservoir in NY. personally im a crankbait guy, but those smallies love them some crayfish, so the hawg did the trick. guess it really depends on the forage your area bass get.

Yeah, and that's been about it. In Nebraska mainly crawfish and some bluegill seem to be the biggest food source. I was using my hawg the other day. I tossed it out there along a handicapped bring and just let it sink to the bottom while I grabbed my coffee mug to take a sip. Luckily I had my pole tip in the air cause I started feeling a "bump bump" on the other end. Quickly put my mug down, reeled in some, and set the hook good. It was a largemouth, 15" 1lb 4oz. Not huge but fun. I couldn't believe it though it just picked it off the bottom. Fun time!

That feeling is the best in the world and the anticipation on the hook set is mind blowing!!

Indeed it is. I went out this morning and used my last one this morning. Didn't catch anything with it but a big rock. Yep... I'm out of hawgs now. I did catch a small bass on a spinner though. Just 14" 1lb 2oz. So no skunkin' for me today!

Another guy that was fishing the dock with me this morning was saying that he likes the baby brush hawgs and fishes them carolina rigged. Never really tried em this way. He said that he has caught a decent few fish on them but then again everything has their days and they work because they are different and not many people probably use them. I can see this totally as they are goofy looking which makes people sceptical. I was but now I'm just waiting to buy my next pack.
