I am new to the forum but not to the hobby. I have recently moved to a 2nd floor apartment. I have a stand i built with a 56"x26" footprint and a 150 xh tank. I have read everything I could about the strength of a floor and have come up with right around 2000lbs as a total weight of the set up. The tank will be hitting 3 to 4 2x8 floor joists against a load bearing wall. Can anyone with experience help?

If it is against a load bearing wall you shouldn't have any issues. I have a 90 gal that only spans over 3 2x10 joists and have not had any problems in 4 years, plus I was a residential/commercial builder for many years. You will be fine. Also, my joists are almost 100 years old, surely yours are newer and in better condition. Hope this helps.

So the tank is full and running. In it is my 11" Jaguar cichlid a large pleco and my new 7 1/2" Red Tail Catfish. It looks great and I have no structural problems even with 5 guys admiring it.
