I'm just curious, is the final product quite hard and solid, or is it more like styrofoam and soft?

The only reason i ask is because i noticed you said yours has started to grow algae on it, and was wondering if you could take a reasonably stiff brush and start scrubbing the background to remove the algae or would there be a good chance it might break or rip part of the top colored layers off?

Either way, the background does look pretty decent...
